Cheeky of name, charitable of purpose. Unpaid pledges are not donations.
name a
pothole

Every hole deserves a name. And an ending.

Meet the potholes that have become part of the neighbourhood. Give one a ridiculous name, sponsor its existence, upload sightings, and celebrate the glorious day it finally gets filled. All in aid of charity.

The hall of holes

Meet the residents.

Part local folklore, part community watch. Browse community submissions, vote on approved names and record an unpaid charitable pledge. Submissions require moderation.

The longevity games

Survival of the deepest.

🏆 The leaderboard

A noble competition

Born to be filled. Destined to be remembered.

Every completed repair earns a date of death and a spot in the Hall of Filled.

See every leaderboard, widest, deepest, cutest and more →

How is age calculated?

Date of birth = first documented sighting (not when the hole actually formed). Date of death = the reported repair date. A moderator verifies repair reports before a date of death is recorded.

A four-step masterplan

A hole lot of good.

Our completely unnecessary naming ceremony might just make a useful difference.

01

Spot it

Log a pothole with its approximate location and first sighting date. Photographs can be added to approved profiles. Safety first: never stand in the road.

02

Name it

Suggest a name for moderation. Once approved, members can vote once per pothole, and the top name becomes its title.

03

Sponsor it

Make a symbolic pledge to celebrate its existence. A real launch would direct payments straight to the charity partner.

04

Say goodbye

After a moderator verifies a reported repair, record its date of death, calculate its final lifespan and give it a respectful send-off.

The reason we do this

Bad roads.
Good causes.

The jokes are free. The community benefit is the point. The proposed live service would use a verified charity partner and a direct-to-charity payment flow so the platform never holds donations.

To the charity. Zero to the pothole.

Target operating model: the chosen charity receives the full donation; transaction charges and operating costs are covered separately, subject to confirmed provider terms.
